Critical Sport Studies
Executive Doctoral Certificates (Online) in Athletic Administration or Sport Leadership
These certificates are intended for professionals working in intercollegiate athletics, sports franchises, or industries related to sport business industry research and sports studies, and consists of coursework in athletic administration, sport leadership, sports analytics and tactics, strategic assessment and program evaluation methods, and sport management.
These certificates are available for any eligible applicants. Applicants will need to apply for the certificate program via the normal Graduate School application process. The minimum application requirements and criteria for admission consideration will be as follows:
- Evidence of a master’s degree from an accredited institution (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5).
- An official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate course work.
- A career-objective essay (max 500 words) including a description of how the Executive Doctoral Certificate in Athletic Administration (Online) program fits into the applicant’s career plans.
- A current résumé.
In addition, students accepted to the Doctoral Curriculum & Instructions are automatically eligible to pursue the Executive Doctoral Certificate (Online) in Athletic Administration or Sport Leadership.
Should a student successfully complete the Executive Doctoral Certificate in Athletic Administration or Sport Leadership program and subsequently apply for and be accepted to the Doctor of Educational in Curriculum & Instructions or in Curriculum & Instruction programs the certificate courses can be applied towards degree program completion provided they meet minimum grade requirements and have not been used for credit towards any other degree program and as approved by the program adviser.
